About

Hi, I'm Peter Fudge.
I help businesses get their technology under control.

I'm a fractional technology advisor based in Newfoundland. I work with business owners who are good at what they do but are spending too much time fighting their own systems. I help them figure out what's actually broken, what to do about it, and how to make smart decisions without getting burned by the wrong vendor or the wrong solution.

What I bring to the table

I've spent my career at the intersection of business and technology — close enough to the technical details to understand them, but always focused on what actually matters to the business.

Business systems

ERP, accounting, operations, and workflow tools. I understand how these systems work together and where they tend to break down as businesses grow.

Data and reporting

Helping businesses get reliable, useful information out of their systems — so decisions are based on facts, not gut feel and spreadsheet wrangling.

Vendor management

I've sat on both sides of the table. I know how software vendors sell, and I help clients cut through the pitch to find what they actually need.

Project oversight

Technology projects go wrong when no one is watching out for the client's interests. I help businesses stay in control of implementations and avoid the common traps.

Team and process

The best software in the world won't fix a broken process. I look at how people are actually working and help design better ways of doing things.

Atlantic Canada focus

I understand the realities of running a business here — the talent constraints, the budget realities, and the pace that works for owner-operated businesses.

How I approach my work

A few principles that guide every engagement.

  • 1

    Independence first

I don't sell software, take referral fees, or have partnerships with vendors. My only incentive is to give you advice that's genuinely in your interest.

  • 2

    Plain language always

If I can't explain something clearly in plain English, I don't understand it well enough yet. I work hard to make complex things simple — not to make simple things sound complex.

  • 3

    Small client list by design

I work with a small number of clients at a time. That's intentional. It means when you have a question or a problem, you get a real response quickly — not a ticket number.

A bit more about me

Outside of work I'm based on the East Coast of Canada, which suits me fine.

  • Based in Newfoundland

I work primarily with businesses in Atlantic Canada, though I take on remote engagements across the country.

  • Straightforward to work with

Clients tell me they appreciate that I say what I think, give clear recommendations, and don't stretch engagements out longer than they need to be.

  • Focused on the long term

Most of my work comes from referrals. That only happens if clients get real value. My reputation depends on giving good advice, not on keeping the meter running.
