Hi, I'm Peter Fudge.
I help businesses get their technology under control.
I'm a fractional technology advisor based in St. John's, Newfoundland. I work with business owners who are good at what they do but are spending too much time fighting their own systems, or being pressured into technology decisions they don't fully understand or aren't ready for.
For most of my career I wasn't a consultant, I was the person making the call. Seventeen years as the senior technology decision-maker at one of North America's largest music products retailers. Every platform choice, every vendor relationship, every implementation that went well, every implementation that went sideways.
I owned it.
That experience shapes everything about how I work with clients now.

What I bring to the table
I've spent my career close enough to the technical details to understand them, but always focused on what actually matters to the business
I work with a small number of clients at a time. That's intentional. It means when you have a question or a problem, you get a real response quickly - not a ticket number.
ERP and business systems
Deep hands-on experience with ERP and e-commerce platforms, and the integration workflows that connect them. I've been through large-scale implementations from the client side, which means I know where they go wrong.
Vendor assessment
I've sat on both sides of the table. I know how software vendors sell, and I help clients cut through the pitch to find what they actually need - including when the honest answer is 'not yet' or 'not this.'
Data and reporting
Helping businesses get reliable, useful information out of their systems - so decisions are based on facts, not gut feel and spreadsheet wrangling.
Project oversight
Technology projects go wrong when no one is watching out for the client's interests. I help businesses stay in control of implementations and avoid the common traps.
Team and process
The best software in the world won't fix a broken process. I look at how people are actually working and help design better ways of doing things.
Newfoundland Based
I understand the realities of running a business here - the talent constraints, the budget realities, and the pace that works for owner-operated businesses.
A bit more about me
Outside of work, I'm a lifelong musician, saxophone player and ensemble director. Before moving to Newfoundland from Ontario, I spent two decades coaching youth sports across hockey, soccer, softball, and curling and directing a police youth band and brass showband.
Those experiences taught me things that don't show up on a technology resume but matter in every client engagement: how to read a room, how to build a team that performs under pressure, how to prepare thoroughly enough that you can stay calm when things don't go to plan. I've written about this at peterfudge.ca, where I explore leadership lessons drawn from those domains for business owners who lead teams.
